At Mitchell’s we are truly committed and passionate about working with our local suppliers. By building strong relationships with local farmers and growers we are able to bring our customers quality, home grown produce from around the region, which enables us to reduce our food miles.

From Cumbrian Fell Bred beef to Pilling Salt Marsh lamb; from Goosnargh farmed vegetables and locally made cheddar we are able to use the very best of local produce to give our customers excellence, every time they visit us at a Mitchell’s pub. By using fresh, local produce wherever possible we are not only supporting our regional communities but are able to provide seasonal, quality dishes on all our menus.

Four of our managed houses are also proud to have been recently awarded the prestigious ‘Taste Lancashire Quality Assured’ award from the Lancashire & Blackpool Tourist Board. This in recognition of our fresh, quality produce sourced from local suppliers. We actively encourage our chefs across the estate to make the widest possible use of local produce to ensure the best seasonal flavours on their specials boards.

Ribble Farm Fare Fruit & Vegetables
Ribble Farm Fare source and deliver all our fruit and vegetables to our managed pubs. A family run firm they always provide great service, consistently high quality produce and are extremely pro-active ensuring we get fresh, seasonal produce every time.

Udales Butchers
Based in Morecambe, Udales Butchers is a family owned firm run by brothers, Neil and Ian. A key supplier of our Cumbrian Fell Bred, 28 day matured beef, Udales source all of their quality meat from local farmers in the region, assuring the best quality every time.

C&G Neves & M&J Seafoods
All of our fresh fish is supplied by C&G Neves and M&J Seafood, of which the majority is fished from their own boats in Fleetwood. We are sensitive to sustainable fish stocks and take advice from the professionals to buy fish in season at the very best quality – which guarantees quality fish and chips every time! In most of our managed houses you will find fish specials that change regularly because our chefs are encourage to be creative, They therefore, work closely with both supplier to ensure we have healthy, mouth-watering fish available for our customers to try.

Carron Lodge
We purchase most of our fantastic cheeses from Carron Lodge in Inglewhite, Trough of Bowland. A unique set up, Carron Lodge is run by two brothers, one of which is the farmer who tends to his cows and the other who churns their fresh milk into a variety of delicious cheeses.

Cask Conditioned Beer
As well as sourcing locally produced foods from around the region we also have a real passion for cask conditioned ales, which is firmly rooted in our own brewing heritage from 1871.

You will always find a varied selection of guest ales available throughout the Mitchell’s Estate, comprising a wide range of local and some national brews all with different styles, tastes and abv’s so we’re sure you will find something to tickle your taste buds. We are committed to supporting local micro-breweries who show real craftsmanship in the brewing process. Some of our local breweries you will find to sample down at your local pub include Brysons of Heysham, Coniston, Hawkshead and Bowland.

On a day-to-day basis we employ a real-ale champion, a licensee for over 20 years who holds regular cellar management courses and generally encourages all our staff to gave an understanding of, and passion for cask ale.
